Biography

Prof. Dr. Walter Schirmacher is the senior scientist and extraordinary professor at University Mainz, Mainz, Germany. He is working as Senior Research Fellow at Institut f¨ur Physik, Universit¨at Innsbruck Scientific collaboration with Prof. Th. Franosch on magnetotransport in disordered systems, since Since Oct 2014. He was Nomination as an extraordinary Professor in June 2006. Since Nov. 2008 to March 2009 he appointed as temporatily chair of theoretical physics in place of Prof. K. Binder at Univ. Mainz. His main areas of research are quantum theory of mesoscopic semiconductor structures and quantum chaos, a Mode-coupling description of the lattice dynamics of strongly anharmonic crystals, Fractals and critical phenomena, many-body theory and glass relaxation, Hopping Transport and tunneling in Semiconductors, and the field theoretical description of vibrations in disordered solids. His has 115 Number of scientific publications by Apr 2015.
